What is Human Calibration?
A structured discipline for leaders under sustained pressure. This page is the canonical definition of the category.
Human Calibration is a structured discipline that restores the internal operating state of leaders under sustained pressure. It does not work on skills, strategy, or mindset. It works on the layer underneath: the internal coherence that determines how all of those perform when the load is real.
Drift does not announce itself.
When decisions accumulate faster than they can be processed, something changes. Not dramatically. Quietly. Urgency starts driving where judgment should. Reactions get sharper. Recovery between blows gets shorter. The margin for error narrows and nobody names it out loud.
The leader still performs. The mask holds. That is what makes the drift invisible: it hides behind competence. By the time it reaches the surface, it has already reached the decisions, the team, and the numbers.
Human Calibration addresses that drift at the source, before it reaches the people and decisions around it.
What it is not.
Therapy treats. Human Calibration does not treat, diagnose, or work on clinical conditions. It is built for functioning leaders whose load has started to outrun their processing. Where clinical care is needed, the boundary is named and respected.
Coaching works on goals, behaviour, and performance. Human Calibration works one level under that. When the operating state is calibrated, performance follows on its own. When it is not, no amount of coaching holds.
Consulting solves the problem on the table. Human Calibration works on the person holding the table. The strategy is rarely the constraint. The state of the one carrying it usually is.
Seven steps. Seventeen instruments.
Human Calibration is not a conversation format. It is a method with a spine: seven steps, carried by seventeen numbered instruments, applied in a fixed discipline. The full method is documented and built to be transferable. It is not published.
Every engagement starts the same way: with the Calibration Index Diagnostic. The state is measured before it is worked on. The Diagnostic maps where load sits, where capacity holds, and where drift has already started, and it always includes a 90-minute debrief. Never a report alone.
Leaders where the margin for error is gone.
Operator CEOs. Founders. CHROs. Senior leadership teams. People who carry sustained responsibility and appear composed while doing it. The work applies in strategic crisis, restructuring, rapid growth, succession, and the quieter situation nobody budgets for: leadership isolation.
If you recognise the drift in yourself, start with the individual work. If you recognise it in your leadership team, start with the team work. If you want your organisation to meet the discipline first, start with a keynote.
Built from carried weight, not from literature.
Human Calibration was created by Rachid Et-Taïbi after 25+ years of international commercial leadership and five years as a CEO, including a three-year crisis turnaround. The method exists because the category did not: nothing on the market worked on the layer where sustained pressure does its damage.
